SIXTY

The SIXTY is a unique model in the UP&DOWN series as a rotational movement is added to the head’s traditional orthogonal movement, exemplifying versatility. This fully electric tube-bending machine loads the tube directly in the tube groove of the bend die and uses the loading grip when the arm is either open or closed. In addition, the operator can orient the tube in space during bending to eliminate collision with the machine or any other external surface in the vicinity.  

Right and left bends in an integrated cycle are possible because of its bending head. The SIXTY’s 11 axes are actuated by absolute servomotors with “Fully Electric” digital technology and controlled by Siemens SINUMERIK 840D sl. Multistack and multiradius like other models in the UP&DOWN series, the SIXTY is also characterised by the high-quality production, the energy savings, and the reduction in set-up/startup times and scraps. The clamp and pressure-die are synchronised, so when the upper plane moves forward, the lower one moves back, and vice versa. The position of the motors on the pressure dies is adjustable to avoid collisions with the tube during bending. The machine’s efficiency is also attributed to the dynamic plane positioner that limits component damage in accidental collisions. The high production rate, the availability for a wide range of accessories for specific processes, the ability to produce bends with a CLR/DIA ratio of lower than 0.8 or thrust bends with a variable radius, the integrability into work cells make this machine suitable for sectors where efficiency and productivity are the primary requirements. Additional energy saving and efficiency improvement are attributed to the pneumatic balancing, which allows the use of a smaller yet more powerful motor. The SIXTY has a three-dimensional graphical software on a 19” LCD touch screen for the operator to interact with the machine intuitively. The UII (“User ISO Interface”) facilitates the programming, the simulation, and the optimisation of the bending process. The SIXTY is designed to integrate into the Smart Factory system.
