A heat exchanger manufacturer also needs to make the tubes that go into the finned pack, which is why IFRV and FAM series hairpin bending machines come into play.
IFRVs are tube cutters equipped with a special bending unit with internal mandrel that allows, thanks to its multiplane technology, hairpins of different radii defined by the die to be made with the same equipment. One track is also dedicated to “variable radius” machining. The hairpin is made one at a time.
The FAM family, on the other hand, exploits a technique of simultaneous tube threading and bending using an arm that bends up to 8 hairpins simultaneously.
This machine can be equipped with a special unit for making flaring deformation on the head of straight tubes and is also equipped with a belt that conveys the made parts to a basket positioned outside the safety fences.
